Position Summary: The Long Island University Arnold and Marie Schwartz College of Pharmacy and Health
Sciences (LIU Pharmacy) invites applications for the position of Director of Assessment and
Accreditation. This leadership role is responsible for assessment and accreditation activities for the
PharmD and graduate programs. The Director collaborates with faculty, staff, and administrators to
design and execute assessment strategies that measure learning outcomes, program effectiveness, and
stakeholder satisfaction. The role ensures the alignment of the College’s assessment activities with the
University institutional effectiveness requirements as well as programmatic and regional accreditation
standards, with a focus on continuous quality improvement of all programs. The position reports to the
Dean of the College of Pharmacy.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee a comprehensive assessment plan for the PharmD program, ensuring alignment with
policies and accreditation standards (e.g., ACPE, university, state, or regional accrediting bodies).
- Oversee a comprehensive assessment plan for graduate programs, ensuring alignment with
College and University accreditations standards.
- Provide leadership in the collection, analysis, and reporting of data to support strategic
planning, program improvement, student services, admissions, and decision-making.
- Oversee the AACP Institutional Effectiveness surveys and report outcomes to the Administrative
team and faculty for action items.
- Manage the Strategic Plan process, ensuring that all stakeholders participate in the collection of
data to inform the accomplishments of strategic initiatives.
- Serve as a resource on assessment and quality enhancement practices
Collaborate with faculty and staff to design and implement assessment tools that evaluate
student learning outcomes and curricular effectiveness.
- Oversee the development, distribution, and analysis of surveys, exams, rubrics, and other
assessment instruments.
- Maintain a database of assessment results and ensure data integrity, security, and accessibility
for stakeholders.
- Work with the Dean and the Administrative team to prepare and manage documentation for
accreditation self-studies, site visits, and reports.
- Analyze assessment data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement in
curriculum and program delivery and compliance with ACPE standards.
- Facilitate discussions and planning sessions with faculty, staff, and administrators to promote a
culture of evidence-based decision-making.
- Represent the College of Pharmacy on University-level committees related to assessment and
accreditation.
- Stay current on trends and advancements in pharmacy and higher education assessment and
accreditation.
Requirements: - The successful candidate must hold a Masters Degree or doctoral degree (MS, PhD, PharmD,
EdD, or equivalent)
- Experience in assessment, institutional effectiveness, or related areas, preferably in a pharmacy
or health sciences educational setting
- Knowledge of national or programmatic accreditation standards and reporting procedures.
- Proficiency in data collection, analysis, and reporting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with survey software (e.g., Qualtrics), statistical tools (e.g., SPSS, SAS, or R), and
visualization platforms (e.g., Tableau or Power BI), Learning Management Systems, ExamSoft,
and Enflux is desirable.
