Position Summary:
Long Island University (LIU), a NCAA Division I institution, is seeking applications for the
vacant position of Head Men’s Volleyball Coach. Reporting to the Director of Men’s and
Women’s Volleyball, the successful candidate is responsible for all aspects in leading a
competitive NCAA Division I men’s volleyball program. Must be committed to, and manage the
program within, the guidelines of the NCAA, NEC and Long Island University (LIU)
Department of Intercollegiate Athletic policies and procedure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate the ability to successfully recruit, manage, and support student- athlete
competitive and academic success.
- Bring visibility, community, and marketing opportunities to the Long Island University
Men’s Volleyball program.
- Successful management of the program budget, fundraising goals, and student- athlete alumni
base.
- Adhere to and enforce all policies and procedures of the LIU Athletic Department and
University as well as the rules and regulations of the NEC and the NCAA.
- Oversee the recruitment process. Ensure full compliance with NCAA guidelines in all aspects
of the recruiting process.
- Provide support and instruction in the personal and athletic development of the team.
- Schedule and conduct regular practice sessions within both traditional and non- traditional
seasons as permitted by NCAA rules and regulations.
- Develop and implement strategies for motivating student-athletes to perform at maximum
levels as both individuals and a team.
- Schedule use of facilities for practice and contests.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- Minimum of 3-5 years of full-time prior experience at the Division I level.
- Working knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
- Possess a valid driver’s license.
- Required to travel and the ability to work nights, weekends and holidays.
