Basic Function and Scope of Responsibilities:
Clinical Instructors play a vital role in mentoring our students as they develop their technical skills and clinical proficiency. If you are passionate about medical imaging education and committed to fostering student success in a hands-on learning environment, we encourage you to apply.
Principal Responsibilities:
Clinical Teaching & Supervision
• Instruct and supervise students during imaging procedures (e.g., X-ray, CT, MRI).
• Demonstrate proper patient positioning, equipment use, and imaging techniques.
• Ensure students follow protocols and produce diagnostic-quality images.
• Communicate with program director and clinical coordinator about student progress or concerns.
Student Evaluation
• Assess student performance in real-time clinical settings.
• Provide constructive feedback and complete competency evaluations.
• Track progress toward required clinical objectives.
• Complete clinical evaluations, attendance records, and competency checklists
Patient Care & Safety
• Reinforce safe practices, including radiation protection and infection control.
• Ensure students maintain patient dignity, communication, and comfort.
• Intervene if patient safety or image quality is compromised.
Compliance & Standards
• Ensure adherence to guidelines set by organizations like the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and facility policies.
Education Requirements:
• Holds current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification and registration, or equivalent, in radiography from an accredited institution.
Training, Skills, Knowledge, Experience:
• 1-2 years of clinical experience in professional discipline.
• Strong communication and teaching skills.
Working Conditions:
• Primarily based in hospitals, outpatient imaging centers, or diagnostic clinics.
• Regular exposure to imaging equipment such as X-ray, CT, and MRI machines.
• Assisting with patient positioning.
• Schedule can vary based on academic program needs.
• Adherence to infection control practices and use of PPE.
• Responsibility for ensuring both student and patient safety at all times.
• Must be willing to travel to clinical sites within 30 miles of LIU Post’s Campus

Salary Range: $1,000-$1,350 per credit
