Purpose or role of the position within the organization (Basic Function and Scope of Responsibilities):  

Research Assistant to work on Molecular Diagnosis of Vector borne Bacteria


Duties and Principal Responsibilities:

DNA extraction, conventional and real time PCR, electrophoresis and amplicon purification 

Development of Lab SOPs



Education Requirements: LIU student enrolled in an active degree program

Training, Skills, Knowledge, Experience:  PCR experience preferred, but not required

Rate of Pay: minimum hourly rate: $17 per hour

Period of employment: Begin Date: 5/18/2026 End Date: 8/7/2026

Evaluation procedures and schedules: student will be evaluated by finished tasks, every two weeks
