Job Description

Job Title: Adjunct Instructor/Europe Student Services & Administrative Program Coordinator
Full/Part Time: Full-Time (10-month contract: August 1 –May 31) 
FLSA Classification: Exempt
Campus: Global 
Reports To: Director, Europe Center
Salary: $30,000

Position Overview:
The Adjunct Instructor/Europe Student Services & Administrative Program Coordinator is an entry-level role designed for individuals with global experience and a background in administration, coordination, teaching, and health and safety support. This position will teach at least one course per semester on global issues and provide day-to-day support for LIU Global's second-year and visiting students during their academic year in Europe. The first semester of the 2026-2027 academic year will be based in Scotland, with extended trips to Belgium and France. The second semester will be based in France, with extended trips to Germany and Austria.

The Coordinator will live in accommodations near students, providing a consistent and accessible presence for support. They serve as the primary on-call contact for managing emergencies and daily student needs such as logistical questions, conflict resolution, organizing doctor visits, etc. In addition, they will oversee logistical arrangements as students move between locations in the UK and Schengen countries. When necessary, the Coordinator will travel on extended field trips and short-term study abroad programs as an additional faculty chaperone.

This role is ideal for individuals passionate about working with students in a cross-cultural context, possessing excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, and seeking hands-on experience in international education. Room, board, travel/health insurance in Europe, and travel to and from Europe once per year are included in the compensation package.

Key Responsibilities:
Student Support:
Serve as the primary point of contact for student needs throughout the academic year.
Coordinate day-to-day logistics and assist in identifying resources and developing local contacts.
Assist with medical visits, travel arrangements, and local networking. These also include co-curricular and cultural activities as directed by the Europe Director.
Assist with implementing LIU and/or Global College policies and managing interpersonal issues that arise among students.
Be on call to manage emergencies and provide immediate assistance as needed in coordination with the Europe Director and local emergency officials.

Teaching Responsibilities:
Teach at least one Global Studies course per semester in Europe that includes field experiences with local experts, organizations, and communities that align with course content.
Support faculty leader on extended field trips and short-term study abroad programs.

Travel and Logistics:
Coordinate and oversee student travel between program locations in the UK and Schengen countries.
Ensure smooth transitions during inter-country moves, assisting with transport and accommodations.
Assist in managing group excursions, field experiences, and related activities.

Administrative Support:
Work closely with the Director of the European Center to support program operations and student well-being.
Maintain records of student needs, including health, safety, and emergency documentation.
Provide regular updates to the Director regarding student support efforts and potential challenges.
Keep meticulous records of expenses in close coordination with the Europe Center Director. Assist in managing budget by securing quotes from third party partners, disbursing petty cash, paying local vendors, etc.

Qualifications:
Education:
oMaster’s degree in a related field preferred.
Experience:
oIdeal for individuals with prior global experience (e.g., studying or working abroad).
oExperience in administration, coordination, teaching, or student services preferred.
oDemonstrated ability to work with diverse groups and navigate cross-cultural settings.
•Skills:
oStrong organizational and problem-solving skills.
oExcellent interpersonal communication abilities.
oAdaptability and flexibility in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
Additional Requirements:
oAbility to travel within Europe (UK and Schengen countries) as required by the program.
oCommitment to being available and present for students during evenings and weekends as necessary.

Working Conditions:
Residence in Europe for the full academic year (approx. September 1 – May 15) in accommodations provided by the program. A daily meal stipend and travel/health insurance are included. When students are not at the center, the position is remote.
Flexibility to travel within the UK and Schengen countries for program operations using tourist travel visas.
On-call availability for emergencies, including nights and weekends.
