Summary
LIU is seeking qualified candidates to apply for a full-time tenure track Assistant Professor position or a full-time non-tenure track (NTTA) Assistant Professor position in the Mental Health Counseling and Marriage and Family Therapy Programs on the Brooklyn campus.
Key Responsibilities
- Teaching and advising graduate students in the master’s degree programs in the Mental Health Counseling and Marriage and Family Therapy Programs.
- Additionally, a commitment to scholarly research, grant writing, and curriculum management and improvement is expected.
- Teaching in the Mental Health Counseling and Marriage and Family Therapy Programs on the LIU Brooklyn campus
- Developing and maintaining an active research agenda including grant writing.
- Ongoing mentoring and advising of graduate student trainees.
- Supervision of graduate student trainee practicum experiences
- Participation in curriculum improvement and departmental and university committee activity.
- Collaboration with other faculty to ensure continued success of our graduate programs
- Candidates must have active membership and involvement in professional counseling organizations, as appropriate
Minimum Qualifications
- Doctorate in Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Social Work or Psychology
- A record of successful experience in higher education and/or other educational environments with publication and grant writing experience preferred
- Clinical experience in mental health counseling and/or marriage and family therapy
- Publication in professional journals and grant writing experience is welcomed
