Job Description

The Clinical Psychology Doctoral Program and Department of Psychology at the Long Island University/Post Campus is seeking applications for a Part-Time Clinical Faculty Supervisor for the Psychological Services Center (PSC), specializing in Psychodynamic intervention. This position is a stipend position, 5 hours per week on campus, set to begin in March 1, 2026 Candidates must have a PsyD or PhD from an APA-accredited clinical psychology program and hold a New York license in Psychology. 

Responsibilities include the following: assisting the PSC Director in the development and implementation of policies and procedures, facilitating students’ professional development and training, attending PSC administrative and clinical meetings, conducting phone screenings, triaging clinical cases, coordinating clinic didactics, supervising students, and ensuring fidelity to maintaining the PSC mission. The Part-Time Clinical Faculty Supervisor also aids in the creation and maintenance of intra-departmental (i.e., the PsyD academic program), inter-departmental (i.e., LIU programs and offices), and community relationships and collaborations. Finally, the Part-Time Clinical Faculty Supervisor provides crucial on-site support for all PSC trainees during the workday and evenings when no other licensed clinical staff are available. 

The PSC is a training site for the PsyD Clinical Psychology Program, a dual- orientation program that trains students in cognitive-behavioral and psychodynamic therapies. The center serves children, adolescents, and adult clients from the community. The doctoral program endorses a practitioner-scholar training model and is accredited - on probation - under appeal by the American Psychological Association.
