Full/Part Time: Part-Time (Spring only); March to May 2026

Reports To: Camp Director
Supervises: Campers ages 6 months-adults
Principal Responsibilities
Instructs students on water safety and proper swim techniques. The instructor will teach
beginning through advanced levels to students ages 3 and up. The position develops
knowledge, skills, talents, and creates awareness, utilizing a variety of instructional techniques
appropriate to students’ interests and abilities. The instructor is also responsible for supervising
students, keeping a safe atmosphere and leading activities and games.
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
• Provides swim instruction
• Enforces safety rules and regulations to prevent accidents; rescues and administers first
aid when necessary
• Inspects pool areas before and after each class for possible maintenance, cleanliness or
damage issues
• Evaluates students' progress and completes paperwork timely
• Ability to work with all ages
• Problem solver and creative thinking skills to identify and resolve challenges that
students encounter
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Must be 18 years of age or older; have 1-2 years of previous aquatic teaching experience
and a competitive swimming background is a plus
