Job Description

Position Summary:

The Administrative Assistant, who will fill a full-time position, will provide administrative support to ensure a productive and efficient office environment for the Family and Community Engagement Center. Responsibilities include planning and administrative tasks. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Assist the team to organize and schedule planning meetings, trainings, webinars, and professional development opportunities. 
  • Maintain the list serve and contacts for outreach 
  • Research upcoming events, resources, and professional development opportunities that will be beneficial to the team 
  • Create and distribute newsletters, announcements, and flyers for trainings and events 
  • Assist in writing reports and organizing data collected by the team 
  • Maintain thorough and accurate records, files and correspondence to document services provided 

Training, Skills, Knowledge, Experience: 

  • Spanish speaking preferred 
  • The ability to multitask and handle a variety of projects 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and computer literacy 
  • Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication 

Education Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in Special Education or related field 

Working Conditions: 

  • Typical office setting with privacy, 
  • Required regular travel to various locations throughout Long Island, 
  • Occasional work hours will be required during nights and weekends.

 Materials & Equipment: 

  • Computer, copier, scanner, wireless access, phone, and fax.
