Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Clerical to customer service and client facing duties.
- Event Support
- May include, but not limited to the following – ensuring designated or assigned event venue or facility is ready, greeting guests, hosting check-in or registration, connecting hosts with service providers, managing audio visual component.
- Conference/ External Rental Group Support
- Assist with the preparation and execution of rental group needs. May include, but not limited to the following – preparing keys, completing paperwork, making copies, making calls, distributing pertinent information to the guests, setting up rooms for guests, inspecting guest rooms, taking work order requests and follow-up, linen packet issuing, keeping track of check-ins and check-outs, troubleshooting issues, providing proper guest service.
- Be responsible for enforcing all aspects of the University Code of Conduct.
- Reserve Tuesday afternoons for possible staff meetings.
- Other duties as assigned by Events/ Auxiliary Management Team.
Minimum Requirements
- Open to Undergraduate and Graduate students, potential for leadership position.
- Remain in good academic, financial and judicial standing at LIU.
- Have and maintain a 3.0 GPA.
- Be available for training upon request.
- Be available to work evenings, weekends, break, as needed. Flexible schedule.
- Be an excellent communicator, responsible and time-efficient, with a friendly disposition.
- Candidates will need to have completed two college semesters by the start date of the position.
- Campus Directional Knowledge is Preferred.
