Job Description

Overall Summary: 

Assists with the day-to-day running of the Dean's Office

Responsibilities:

  • Serves as initial face-to-face and telephone contact point for students, faculty members and outside visitors.
  • Each semester collects Outside Additional Professional Activities forms, syllabi, and any other required documents or materials.
  • Assist students in getting documentation needed in connection with student registrations, change of grades, VISA forms, permission codes, etc.
  • Coordinates department faculty recruitment efforts and records. Assures that proper forms and expenses are submitted in a timely manner, makes appointments and reservations, as necessary.
  • Assists with department research projects, as relevant.
  • Prepares and processes required electronic filing of workloads, each semester.
  • Assists in organizing Commencement, Awards and other events, as needed.
  • Assists in scheduling appointments, typing up correspondence
  • Makes appointments and schedules Teams meetings, as requested.
  • Orders department supplies and keeps supply cabinet and storage areas neat
  • Overall responsibility for COM mail. Collects mail daily, make sure outgoing mail is picked up. Each semester, set up mail boxes for all current faculty and Staff.
  • Maintains college's lists including, telephone list, room list, adjunct faculty list, etc.
  • Assists in a wide variety of projects as requested.
  • Other duties as required.

Required:

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, Zoom and otherwise internet/computer savvy.
  • Experience working in a professional environment.
