Purpose or role of the position within the organization (Basic Function and Scope of Responsibilities):  

 Help students understand course material; prepare for exams; help with time management, organizational/planning skills and study strategies. Need students with a strong background in core classes: English, Philosophy, Political Science, History, Psychology, laboratory science, Math, Economics, Accounting and Finance. Minimum cum gpa of 3.2 and faculty or department chair recommendation required.

Duties and Principal Responsibilities:

 Work up to 12 hours per week in The Learning Center – located on the main floor of the Library.

 

Education Requirements: LIU student enrolled in an active degree program, 

Must have 3.2 gpa and faculty or department chair recommendation for the courses you want to tutor

Rate of Pay: minimum hourly rate $17 HR

Period of employment: Begin Date:  End Date: 5/2026

Evaluation procedures and schedules:  Flexible hours Monday – Thursday 9 am to 5 pm; Friday 10 am to 4 pm
