Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Provides academic leadership and oversight for undergraduate and graduate SHP programs.
- Oversees the day-to-day operations of the school, including faculty workload, course coverage, student enrollment, and all reporting and data management duties
- Plans with the faculty and appropriate committees for student recruitment, admission, progression, retention and advisement activities related to the undergraduate and graduate programs.
- Assists the Dean in the recruitment and selection of faculty and staff
- Advises and counsels students; mediates problems between students and faculty
- Takes over responsibilities of the School in Dean’s absence
- Special projects as defined by the Dean (e.g., Dean’s Research Initiative)
Education Requirements:
- Earned doctorate in one of the allied health professions (e.g., social work, psychology) or doctorate in a related field plus a master's degree in an allied health profession
- Five to eight years related professional experience; demonstrated leadership and management abilities, and operational skills, administrative and teaching experience
- Working knowledge of allied health professions curricula and general accreditation standards.
Training, Skills, Knowledge, Experience:
- Excellent skills in leadership, operations, accountability, supervision, and written and oral communication
- Prior teaching and administrative experience in a baccalaureate or higher degree program
- Credentials at the rank of least Assistant Professor
- Experience in writing grant proposals and conducting research
- Licensed in New York State, if applicable

- Operate a computer, copy and fax machine, scanner & any other office equipment
