Location: Building and Floor: Teaching and Research Center lower floor

Supervisor: Name: Jerry Roberson

Title:  Dept. Chair of Clinical Sciences

Purpose or role of the position within the organization (Basic Function and Scope of Responsibilities):  

Role: assist other veterinary technicians with the set up and break down/clean up of the small animal surgery laboratory.

 

Duties and Principal Responsibilities:

Removal of cadaver dogs from freezers for thawing prior to lab.

Assist with set up of lab and clean up after lab

Assist instructors and veterinary students during labs 

 

 

Education Requirements: LIU student enrolled in an active degree program

Training, Skills, Knowledge, Experience: veterinary technician experience appreciated but not obligatory.

Rate of Pay: minimum hourly rate $17 HR

Period of employment: Begin Date: 8/28/2025 End Date: 11/28/2026

Evaluation procedures and schedules: Tuesday: remove cadavers from freezers; Wednesday: set up for lab: Thursday: assist with lab and clean-up after lab: Friday: +/- continue clean-up. Work study students are not expected to be able to assist all of these times.
