Job Description

FWS Student Fitness/Concession Assistant: 
Brooklyn Department: Campus Recreation 
Campus: LIU Brooklyn 

Basic Function and Scope of Responsibilities: This position is for the Brooklyn Steinberg Wellness Center. This position is responsible for providing a clean, safe & welcoming environment for all users. The Building Manager works closely with the other Building Managers and the Director of Campus Recreation. The responsibilities of this position include enforcing safety protocols and managing all equipment to ensure equipment and machines are sanitized, organized, and operating properly. 
Fitness/Concession Attendant Responsibilities:
● Ensure the fitness area and concession stand remains clean & organized. 
● Adhere to Campus Recreation University policies. 
● Actively supervise the fitness center and concession stand. 
● Act in a professional manner by upholding LIU Policy when involved in conflict management with patrons, students, & staff. 
● Perform opening/closing procedures of the fitness room and concession stand. 
● Display a positive and enthusiastic attitude for all patrons 

Training, Skills, Knowledge, Experience: 
Interest or field of study related to health and fitness preferred. 
Experience with weight room equipment, machines and/or food service preferred. 

Working Conditions: 
Flexible hours, including weekends and evenings, are required to execute the position’s role responsibly. 
Occasional travel to/from other LIU campuses for the facilitation of trainings, meetings and other university functions. 

Materials & Equipment: 
Computer, fax machine, copier, phone, POS system.
