Basic Function and Scope of Responsibilities:
This position is for LIU Post Federal work Study Students only. The Fitness Room and Concessions
Assistant oversees and supervises the BlueFit Cardio Center, BlueFit Strength Center, BlueFit Fitness
Center, the front desk at the Pratt Recreation Center and/or assists with the concession stand for events.
This position is responsible for providing a clean, safe & welcoming environment for all users. This staff
members works closely with Building Managers and the Director of Campus Recreation. The
responsibilities of this position include enforcing safety protocols and managing all equipment to ensure
equipment and machines are sanitized, organized, and operating properly along with efficiently assisting
with concession stand operations.
Fitness Room Attendant Responsibilities:
● Ensure the fitness area and concession stand remains clean & organized.
● Adhere to Campus Recreation University policies.
● Actively supervise the fitness center and concession stand.
● Act in a professional manner by upholding LIU Policy when involved in conflict management with
patrons, students, & staff.
● Perform opening/closing procedures of the fitness room and concession stand.
● Display a positive and enthusiastic attitude for all patrons
Training, Skills, Knowledge, Experience:
● Interest or field of study related to health and fitness preferred.
● Experience with weight room equipment, machines and/or food service preferred.
Working Conditions:
● Flexible hours, including weekends and evenings, are required to execute the position’s role
responsibly.
● Occasional travel to/from other LIU campuses for the facilitation of trainings, meetings and other
university functions.

Phone, POS system, weight machines.
