Summary
The LIU Campus Recreation team is seeking a Swim Camp Instructor for our LIU Brooklyn Summer Swim Camp. The candidate must be available for 7 weeks of camp beginning July 6th and concluding August 28th (8am-3pm, Monday-Friday).
Key Responsibilities
The Swim Camp Instructor performs a wide variety of jobs including:
- Manage the execution of the summer swim camp.
- Instruct campers on swimming techniques and skills.
- Incorporate mini-games and lessons.
- Supervise the swimming pool and campers at all times.
Minimum Requirements
- Associate's degree or higher.
- Swimming experience required.
- Swimming camp management/coaching experience preferred.
- Thorough knowledge and application of lifeguard surveillance and rescue techniques.
- An understanding of facility characteristics, rules, policies and procedures.
- Leadership.
- Decision-making skills.
Working Conditions
Always indoors, the swimming pool is in the Steinberg Wellness Center at our LIU Brooklyn Campus.
