Title:  Director of Student-Run Businesses

Purpose or role of the position within the organization (Basic Function and Scope of Responsibilities):  

Student-run business sales ambassadors staff the various student-run businesses at the Post Campus, including the Shark Nation Spirit Store, Student Body Collective, and the Roosevelt House Gift Shop. Sales ambassadors greet and assist customers, operate the point of sale (POS) system and assist with inventory management, maintenance of the facilities, and online order fulfillment. 

 

Duties and Principal Responsibilities:

Must be able to work special events. Upcoming special events include: Accepted Students Day, Open House, Commencement.

Operate the point of sale (POS) system to process orders, returns, and exchanges.

Utilize customer service skills to assist customers with any questions or concerns.

Organize store inventory and displays to ensure the store is presentable and properly stocked.

Assist in inventory labeling and fulfilling online sales orders.

Communicate regularly with the Director of Student-Run Businesses. 

 

 

Education Requirements: LIU student enrolled in an active degree program

Training, Skills, Knowledge, Experience:

Rate of Pay: minimum hourly rate $16.50 HR

Period of employment: Begin Date: 3/1/2026 End Date: 5/18/2026

Evaluation procedures and schedules: Evaluated on a continuous basis by supervisor
