Position Summary:
Protect life and property and able to respond to all types of emergencies on campus
Key Responsibilities:
- Performs routine public safety duties in accordance with established guidelines.
- Patrol assigned areas to ensure personal, building and equipment security.
- Warn violators of rule infractions
- Enforce traffic and parking violations
- Enforce all applicable campus rules and regulations plus NY State Penal Law when appropriate
- Assist in emergency situations as needed
Education Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; college preferred.
Training. Skills, Knowledge. Experience:
- Prior law enforcement and/or security experience preferred
- Must have good written, verbal communication and organizational skills
- General computer knowledge is required
- Valid NY State driver's license and good driving record required
- Must have valid NY State security guard license and have completed both the 8 hour and 16
hour security guard training
- Must have in possession updated CPR/AED and First Aid Training
Working Conditions:
- Must be able to demonstrate physical fitness
- Able to stand for a long period of time;
- Able to walk for long period of time;
- Climb stairs and
being exposed to outdoor weather conditions
- Must be able to assist in lifting a person at least 150 pounds onto stretcher into ambulance.
- Able to work shifts as needed.
