Summary

The Division of Pharmaceutical Sciences at LIU Pharmacy invites applications for two full-time tenure-track faculty positions at the Assistant/Associate/Professor level in the field of Pharmacology. The candidates will participate in scholarship, teaching, and service functions within the College. The candidates will teach in the graduate pharmacology program (M.S. & Ph.D.) and in the Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) program.

The College of Pharmacy houses integrated drug discovery and development centers including The Williamson Institute for Pharmacometrics, Zupko Institute for Systems Pharmacology and Pharmacogenomics, Lachman Institute for Pharmaceutical Analysis and Natoli Institute for Industrial Pharmacy Research and Development. Furthermore, in support of the college's vision of preparing pharmaceutical scientists of tomorrow, the university established a collaboration with Dassault Systèmes, a world leader in AI technologies, to be further exploited in drug discovery and development research initiatives being held at the college. The college also has a center of data analytics and artificial/augmented intelligence, which candidates can use to refine their ideas and research programs to determine the worth of further development.

The division welcomes applications from a wide range of expertise in pharmacology. Including Molecular Pharmacology, Pharmacokinetics, Pharmacodynamics, Therapeutics, Clinical Pharmacology, Systems Pharmacology, Pharmacogenomics, and Pharmacometrics. The candidates are expected to collaborate with researchers both on and off campus and seek and obtain extramural funding for research.

These are 12-month positions. Rank will depend on qualifications and experience.

These positions require a Ph.D. degree in Pharmacology. A B.S. degree in pharmacy is highly desirable. A prior record of teaching in some capacity (teaching assistant, Instructor, Lecturer, etc.) at a college of pharmacy or similar program is preferred. Applicants must possess a track record of scholarly research and peer-reviewed publications and demonstrate potential for attracting extramural funding. Candidates must possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
